_about
Interview for Bang!Bang! studio by Lena Kamay
— What do you first remember drawing?
I don’t remember it. It happened in my deep childhood, it was some scrawling I guess.
— Where do you usually draw?
At night, at home.
— What’s the last album you’ve played?
Soundtrack from Assa movie.
— Do any texts inspire you?
It’s my grandpa poetry. His name is Vladimir Kinossian, Doctor of philosophic sciences.
— Is your work characteristic in some way of the country you come from — or live in?
Undoubtedly. I live in a really great country. Only here Christian faith, which was passed from Byzantine Empire, survived and has paved the way for the flourishing of a unique literature, art, poetry and philosophy. I adore our history, our rich and flexible language, Russian people's eternal spiritual soul. Western culture — bawdy and decadent, similar to convulsions of a galvanizing corpse, is disgusting for me.
— If you could collaborate with any artists you choose, who would they be?
Andrei Rublev.
— What’s your most essential tool?
My hands.
— What’s the one thing that gives you inspiration to keep making art?
Love.
— Do you have a motto or favorite quotation?
You shall not make for yourself an idol.
— If you don’t have any fresh idea, how do you struggle with this?
I’m searching for various concerns of exciting cultural phenomena, and then understand what idea I’d like to convey in my work.
— The most funny comment that you’re ever heard about your works?
What drugs do you use?
— What kind of things do you want to get from your work/illustrations/clients?
Creative freedom and adequate reward.
— Is there a point to work with an agency or to be an independent artist?
Result is important, not a resource.
— How do you feel about commercial projects and your personal works? Is it the same feelings?
Every single commercial work should be done superlative, you shouldn’t be ashamed to put there your signature. Unfortunately it's not happend all the time. The most terrible in all activities — it's a slapdash.
— What’s the most difficult thing in the life?
Make yourself better.
— Do you afraid someone or something?
Judgment of sin.
— Who rule the world?
His sable Excellence and his weapons: money, pride and lust.
— What are the top 3 things that make you happy?
Faith, Hope and Love.
